Hit-and-run driver strikes stalled vehicle, injuring 4

Early Friday morning, around 12:53am, officers responded to the area of the 900 block of Alabama Street regarding a leaving the scene injury accident.

It was reported a white Dodge Neon with four occupants was traveling eastbound on West 23rd Street when the vehicle became disabled. The two of the four occupants got out of the vehicle and began pushing it eastbound in attempts to get it out of the roadway. A silver Ford pickup truck was traveling eastbound on W. 23rd Street, rear-ended the Dodge Neon and then left the scene of the accident, continuing eastbound on 23rd Street. The two occupants that had been pushing the vehicle and the two occupants inside the vehicle were injured. A 21 year old male and a 32 year old female were transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. They both were later determined to be in stable but critical condition. Two other patients were transported to area hospitals with injuries as well.

The driver and the vehicle that had been involved in the leaving the scene accident, were located later in the morning.
