Anthony Talbert of Topeka was booked in the Douglas County jail just before noon Monday, on a long list of allegations, including aggravated burglary, intimidation of a witness, battery, assault and more.
He's now the third suspect arrested in the case. The other defendants include Monroe Lockhart and Jacob Barnett. The men allegedly committed the crimes on Nov. 10 in Topeka.
The suspects are connected to Topeka business Mo's Express, which is part of the Hudson Crossing development. The shopping center has been the center of multiple violent crimes recently, including a Christmas Eve murder.
Mo's Express reopened Monday under a new name, Phillips 66 Food and Tobacco.
Thirty-nine-year-old Cory Brown was a developer of the shopping center. He was found murdered in January in Douglas county. No suspects have been arrested in the case.
According to Douglas County Sheriff's Department Spokesman Steve Lewis, "The investigation continues with determined effort."
Lockhart and Barnett, who were reportedly friends with Brown, sit in the Shawnee county jail.
But what's unusual with Talbert's arrest, he was picked up in Arizona and extradited to Douglas County, not Shawnee County where he was wanted for the burglary case.
Many are left wondering if his being in Douglas County is related to the murder investigtion. 6News contacted Topeka police Monday, to find out. We received no response.
Talbert is being held in Douglas county on a $500,000 bond.
