Lawrence- Bikers gathered together this weekend for a good cause. Members of the northeast Kansas chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse hosted its second annual Cycle Rodeo. Hundreds of bikers came together to raise money for abused children in the area. They say children who are victims need all the love and support that they can get.
Multiple events took place at the Slow Ride Roadhouse on Saturday. There were bike races, hot dog eating contests, and keg rolls.
Organizers say it’s a fun way to raise money for children and help create a safer environment. The money raised is used for services children need after they have been abused. They money also goes toward different support programs. Bikers take the children on fun outings so the kids can have a good time and volunteers can help them get back to a healthy daily routine.
It costs $20 to participate, but bikers say helping the kids is worth every dime.
