Topeka-- On Thursday May 24th, 2012 at about 4:15 p.m., Officers of the Topeka Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation responded to a bank robbery at US Bank, 1064 SW Wanamaker Road. The individual, described as being an Asian male, 5’9”, 170 lbs, wearing a blue cap, Under Armour shirt, and sunglasses entered the bank, indicated he had a weapon but did not display it. The individual fled with an undisclosed amount of money. An alert witness observed the individual leave the area and provided police with a very good description of the vehicle, being a blue Volkswagen Jetta and provided a license plate number.
An attempt to locate for the suspect and vehicle were broadcast to law enforcement and the suspect was apprehended by Kansas Highway Patrol in Ellis County at about 7:45 p.m. without incident.
